TTMMFA: Music

CHAPTER 1

THINGS THAT MAKE ME FEEL ALIVE:

Music. I listen to music almost every day. I can't do my schoolwork without music. I feel incomplete washing the dishes without music. I feel incomplete traveling without music blasting in my ears. In fact, I'm listening to music as I am writing this page.

Music is a form of art that expresses the creator's emotions through its elements. Music has different genres; the popular genres are pop, hip-hop, jazz, and R&B. Personally, I listen to every genre, and it depends on my mood at the moment what I will listen to.

When I listen to music, I like it organized. I want all of the same vibes and similar sounds put together in one playlist — so when I want to listen to it, I'll be in another world. I am too lazy to create playlists most of the time as I need to establish a "momentum" before I can make a playlist that will satisfy me. Thus, when I listen to songs that aren't on my playlists, I usually go to the song radio so I'll be able to achieve the playlist-like experience without creating the actual playlist.

My recent plays on Spotify. All are my playlist except "Indak Radio," "2NE1," and "I Can't Handle Change Radio."

Music has been one of my escapes too. As I've mentioned on the previous page, I like reading better with music. It bought me to another world — where I can take a break from everything. In a blog entitled "How Music Relieves Stress and Helps You Relax," it was stated that listening to music can decline the stress hormones your body releases when you feel threatened. An article by Thoma M. et al. (as cited in the same blog, "How Music Relieves Stress and Helps You Relax") stated that music can also help you recover from stress faster than you would without music. That being said, music indeed helps with the stress that is a given in this world.

If I'm not reading or listening to music — you'll find me doing my other interest. Watching.
