TTMMFA: Watching

CHAPTER 1

THINGS THAT MAKE ME FEEL ALIVE:

Watching. Another thing that makes me feel alive. Personally, I want to watch series more than movies. When I watch International Series, I usually watch series about the law. My favorites were Sherlock, How to Get Away with Murder, and Lucifer. I loved this series as I learn something from it; at the same time, I was enjoying the story. The basic knowledge I picked up in these series will be helpful to me in pursuing law in the future.

The fantasy + crime combination of this series was top-tier.

This series was good!

I watch almost every genre when I'm watching K-dramas. I watch fantasy, law, and medical k-dramas. Sometimes, it varies on the plot. Sometimes, on the popularity. Most of the time, it depends on the actors. I'm just lucky to have a great story most of the time when I watch k-dramas based on the oppas. My favorite k-drama is Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, I watched it for the first time in 2016-2017, I think? I watched it as it was popular in those years, and I was wondering if it was really worth the hype — and it was. I become fond of k-drama — the actor too. I rewatched it whenever I miss them, and the feeling of watching it for the first time again is still there. Of course, minus the thrill of not knowing what will happen next, as I've watched it several times. What's good is that I don't rewatch it immediately after watching it — the period of watching it was long, and I was able to watch several K-dramas during those long time. Thus, when I rewatch Strong Woman Do Bong Soon again, I forgot about the other parts, and the thrill is somehow still there.

K-dramas on Netflix.

Watching series, movies, and k-dramas help me feel things whenever I become numb. When I need a good cry — I watch All the Bright Places, my comfort movie. After that, I can continue going on with life as I've released the heaviness by watching it.

All the Bright Places on Netflix. My comfort movie, if you need a good cry, this is THE movie.

It was stated in the blog "How Watching Movies Can Help Your Mental Health" that movies help us release emotions by being carried away by what the actors are feeling. Dr. Gary Solomon, Ph.D., MPH, MSW, the author of Reel Therapy, stated (as cited in the blog "How Watching Movies Can Help Your Mental Health"); that you are ideal to choose a movie with a theme that mirrors your current situation as of the moment. It was stated in the same blog that "Cinema therapy" is a real thing prescribed by therapists that used movies for therapeutic purposes. Movies can help you think about how to deal and feel with the situation you're currently in.

Reading, Listening to music, and Watching are my main personal interests. They help me have a productive break and cope with stress in their own way. My personal interests are what made Pages of Denielle come this far.

    1. Who wouldn't love watching Netflix? You have a variety of movies, documentaries, and series to watch there, and you can always pick up where you left off. You can also download those offline! How cool is that? Even if it's a paid subscription, I think Netflix is worth the price.
